I’m converting this WordPress Photo Blog over to being only for photos of birds, nature, wildlife, bushwalking, hiking, travel, tourism, art and similar topics. I’ll continue to use my Blogger photo blog and my Myspace photo blog for Sport and Physical Activity Photography.
I’ve recently enjoyed two visits to Kathleen McArthur Conservation Park (Currimundi Lake Conservation Park) on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. My undoubted highlight was seeing an Olive Backed Oriole (Oriolus sagittatus) catch, shake vigorously and devour a large grub! Here are some pics:
Idyllic scene on Currimundi Lake
New Growth of Swamp Banksia (Banksia robur)
White Cheeked Honeyeater (Phylidonyris nigra) playing ‘hard to get’
Immature Olive Backed Oriole (Oriolus sagittatus)
An older Olive Backed Oriole (Oriolus sagittatus) with a large, juicy grub for lunch!
The Olive Backed Oriole (Oriolus sagittatus) decided it didn’t want to eat all the green ‘goo’ from the grub’s insides, so proceeded to shake out much of the goo:
Easier to get down the hatch now…
Little Friar Bird (Philemon citreogularis)
Cute little Silvereye (Zosterops lateralis)
To finish, a ‘stress relief’ image for you:
Here’s my Smugmug gallery on my two visits to Kathleen McArthur (Currimundi Lake) Conservation Park.
Thanks for looking.
